Trinx B700 Review


Napansin ko na medyo patok na choice itong Trinx Big B700 sa mga naghahanap ng medyo kargadong Trinx MTB. Para sa may mga budget na 15k para sa bagong MTB nila, itong Trinx B700 ang nakita kong kinukuha nila.

Subukan natin gawan ng review at tignan ang bawat specs nitong Trinx B700 sa post na ito.

Trinx B700 Specs

FRAME

  • FRAME: 27.5″*16″/18″ Alloy Tri-Butted Smooth Welding
  • FORK: Trinx Air Lock-Out Travel:100mm

Maganda pala ang frame nito. Maganda ang porma ng frame at pati na din ang paint job. Alloy yung frame kaya magaan na din, triple butted pa kaya lalong mas magaan at matibay. Smooth welding din kaya malinis tignan ang joints ng batalya.

Size 27.5 ang gulong para sa frame na ito. May sizes na mapagpipilian na 16 at 18. Naka-internal cabling na din kaya malinis tignan lalo dahil sa loob na ng frame dumadaan ang cable para sa shifters.

Yung fork naman nito ay air fork na, kaya mas magaan kumpara sa fork na hindi pa air (coil-spring lang) at mas maganda din ang laro ng mga air fork. Hindi ko alam kung rebrand ito ng ibang air fork, Trinx kasi ang nakalagay sa fork. May lock out na din at travel na 100mm.

Kulay gold yung stanchions ng fork, at yung arch naman ay nasa likod, ganito yung style ng mga high-end fork sa ibang brands tulad ng Manitou. Meron ding parang laste sa stanchions, para mas madali mo makita yung travel ng fork.

Tapered na din pala ang head tube nito, mas maganda dahil ang tapered head tube makikita mo sa mga mas mamahalin at high ends na bike. Ayon sa nabasa ko dati, mas matibay daw ang tapered na headtube kumpara sa non-tapered o yung diretso lang na headtube.

Alloy na yung pedal na kasama. Nagagandahan ako sa saddle, hindi mukhang mumurahin lang. Straight yung handle bar na alloy na din, pero walang kasamang bar-end grips.

DRIVETRAIN

  • SHIFTER: Shimano Altus SL-M370
  • FD: Shimano Altus FD-M2000
  • RD: Shimano Altus RD-M370
  • CHAIN: KMC Z99
  • BRAKE: Shimano M315 Hydraulic Disc

Shimano Altus ang pyesa na nakabit sa Trinx B700. Mas mataas ito kesa sa Tourney. Naka hydraulic disc brake na din ang MTB na ito. Shimano Non-series hydraulic brakes ang gamit, buti naman at hindi ibang brand ang ginamit para sa hydro brakes. Mas may tiwala kasi ako sa non-series Shimano hydraulic brakes, kesa sa ibang murang hydro brakes.

WHEELS

  • HUB: Novatec Alloy Double Sealed Bearing

Upon research, Sugek ang brand ng sprocket na CS-M2009 11-32T. May gear ratio na 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-32T. Maganda na din yung increments ng teeth sa cogs, pero mas maganda sana kung ginawa ni Trinx na 11-34t tutal kaya naman ng Altus RD ang 34t cogs. Para sakin kasi, parang baliwala lang yung pagka 9-speed nya dahil kagaya lang din ng mga 8-speed na naka 11-32 din.

Pero dahil cassette type naman na din ang hubs nito na Novatec brand, madali lang magpalit ng sprocket. Siguro ay bolt-type yung kabitan ng rotors nito. Naka quick-release na din ang hubs na ito. May tunog ang freewheeling nito, basta Novatec kahit hindi kalakasan.

Yung gulong naman sa B700, 2.10 ang tire width. Magandang balanse para sa paved road at light trails dahil hindi sobrang aggressive yung knob pattern.

Prowheel Flint yung crank. Standard crank lang na may alloy na crank arms, at pang square type na bottom bracket.  Hindi ko sigurado kung nakakalas yung chain rings nito dahil parang naka-rivet yung mga plato.

Verdict

Overall, not bad. Sa SRP na P14500, parang hindi na lugi dahil maganda yung frame, maganda din yung fork kasi air-type na. Yung wheelset, panalo na din dahil maganda yung hubs. Ang iuupgrade mo na lang dito ay yung drivetrain kung gusto mo ng mas mataas na antas ng groupset.

Dahil maganda yung frame nito, hindi din sayang na iupgrade mo yung ibang mga pyesa pag tagal kung maisipan mo mag upgrade o magkaron ng pang upgrade.

Pero sa totoo lang, wala ka na kailangan i-upgrade dito, hindi ka na bibiguin ng mga pyesa na bumubuo sa bike na ito, long ride man o off-road rides.
