Trinx M520 Review


Wala nito sa website ng Trinx. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Akala ko noong una ay imbento lang ng mga shops dito sa Pinas itong model na ito. Pero parang legit naman, kasi naka print talaga sa frame ng bike yung model na M520. Trinx Big 9 M520 pa nga ang nakalagay. Big 9, siguro kasi 29er siya, ganun kasi sa Merida e.

Trinx M520 Price

Nasa P7250 ang pinakamababang price na nakita ko dito sa Trinx M520. Sa ibang shops, mas mataas pero hindi naman umaabot ng 8k. Mura na para sa isang 29er na budget MTB. Last year kasi, kapag mga 29er e, lagpas 10k ang SRP kahit na same lang din ng mga pyesa sa mga low-budget na 26er MTB.

Trinx M520 Specs

Tignan naman natin ngayon yung specs ng Trinx M520. Hindi ko pa ito nakikita ng personal, pero kahit na specs lang ang alam natin, pwede pa din naman natin ito bigyan ng verdict kung sulit ba ito sa presyo nya. Mamaya yan.

Heto yung specs ng Trinx M520 galing sa mg sellers ng bike na ito, wala kasi ito sa website ng Trinx e:

Frame: Alloy frame, 29er, size 16

Alloy na yung frame, which is nice na syempre. 29er naman yung gulong na kasya sa frame. Hindi ko lang sigurado kung may iba pang sizes bukod sa size 16.

Sa porma ng frame, hawig nya yung style ng iba pang bike sa Majestic lineup ng Trinx. Pansin dito sa picture na ito, Majest M520 yung nakalagay.

Madami din palang ibat-ibang kulay na mapagpipilian. Black yung main color ng M520 tapos may shade ng gray at ibat ibang kulay tulad ng: green, red, blue, at yellow.

Fork: Trinx with lock out

Ordinary fork lang na may lock out, Trinx branded. Siguro same lang din ito ng nasa M500 at M136. May kabigatan at hindi masyadong maganda ang laro ng fork na ganun. Parang basic lang na may suspension, pero may lock-out na din. Hindi na din masama pang beginner at okay na din kumpara sa forks ng ibang bikes na mas low-end pa.

Shifter: Shimano 8 Speed Altus Rapidfire

Shimano Altus nga yung shifters, pero combo shifters pa din ito. Naka 8-speed na itong Trinx M520. Kung in the future nagbabalak ka mag-upgrade sa hydraulic brakes, kailangan mo palitan itong shifters na ito dahil magkasama yung shifters at brake levers dito.

Brake: Shimano

Shimano “daw” yung brake. Hindi ko maconfirm pa kung Shimano calipers nga yung gamit dito sa mechanical disc brakes nito at hindi Trinx calipers. Mas maganda yun kung Shimano nga yung mismong brake calipers. Pero may duda ako. Hindi pa kasi ito naka-hydraulic brakes. Tama lang din naman sa presyo niya, at syempre 29er kasi siya. Mas mahal talaga sa Trinx kahit na same specs pero habang lumalaki yung wheel size, umaakyat din yung SRP.


Handlebar: Oversize Steel

Bakal yung handlebar, straight. Medyo maigsi. Parang sa M136 lang, pero wala itong kasamang bar-end grips. Yun yung parang sungay na ang purpose ay para magkaron ka ng ibang hand position. Meron kasi yun sa Trinx M136 at M500.

Stem: Alloy

Alloy na yung stem, which is good kasi hindi steel yung nilagay. Di kakalawangin at mas magaan ng konti. May angle din at pwede mo pa ibaba kung mas trip mo ang aggressive position kaysa sa comfortable na porma.

Front derailler: Shimano Tourney

Tourney yung fd. Basic pero maganda ang performance.

Rear Derailler: Shimano Tourney

Ganun din sa rd, kayang kaya pa din ang 8-speed na cogs at maayos din ang shifting.

Crank: Prowheel Triple

Tatlo yung plato sa unahan. Sa itsura nito, parang ganito din yung crankset ng Trinx M500. Alloy na yung crank arm kaya maganda. Riveted nga lang yung chainrings sa Prowheel crank na ito kaya hindi mo ito pwedeng i-modify para mapalitan ng chainrings kung gusto mo mag 1-by setup. Mas okay itong crank na ito kesa sa crank ng M136 dahil bakal pa yung crank arm nun. Sa M500, 22-32-42 ang teeth ng chainrings ng Proweel crank, parang pareho naman kaya siguro ganyan din yung bilang dito sa M520.

Cogs: 8 Speed Taiwan

Walang brand yung cogs, basta 8-speed lang. Hindi ko alam yung eksaktong specs nitong cogs. Sa tingin ko ay 11-32 na ito yata. Hindi ko sure. Pero mas maganda yun kesa sa 7-speed na mas maliit yung biggest cogs. Mas madali kasi i-ahon kung mas malaki yung cogs sa huli lalo na kung sobrang tarik ng mga ahunan. Hindi ko din alam kung cassette type na ba ito o thread type lang. Pero sa tingin ko, sa presyo ng MTB na to, thread type pa din ito gaya ng sa M500.

Rim: Trinx Sport Geometry Alloy Double Wall

Alloy na double wall na yung rim. Okay na yun, magaan at may katibayan na din kumpara kung single wall rim lang.

Tires: Kenda 29 x 2.10

Yung tires naman, Kenda na pala. Mas maganda kasi mas kilala yung brand kumpara sa CST na madalas sa mga mas murang bikes pa ni Trinx. 29 yung size ng gulong, syempre 29er na MTB ito. 2.10″ naman yung lapad ng gulong, may kalapadan pero sa palagay ko ay hindi sobrang aggressive ng tires na ito kaya saktong sakto lang siya sa long rides sa mga sementadong kalsada, at hindi din naman magkakaproblema sa mga malubak na off roads.

Sulit na ba yung Trinx M520?

Sa tingin ko sa price nya, sulit na din na beginner budget MTB itong Trinx M520. Kung nagbabalak ka bumili ng bike, at napupusuan mo itong Trinx M520 dahil pasok naman sa budget mo, go with it na.

Sobrang recommended ko yung Trinx M500 dati kasi okay yung specs at price nya as a budget MTB. Noon wala ako mai-recommend na 29er dahil yung mga previous 29er bikes ni Trinx ay nasa lagpas ng P10k ang presyo pero halos same lang naman ng specs ng mga cheaper 26er MTB.

Ngayon, itong Trinx M520 ay parang Trinx M500 lang siya na naging 29er. Halos lahat e, sa mga pyesa, mas maganda pa nga yung tires nitong M520. Kaya kung ang reason kung bakit ayaw mo ng Trinx M500 dahil 26er lang siya, ito na ang sagot sa problema mo.
